Exterior Design
Even when stationary, the new Audi R8 defies all convention.
The aerodynamic shaping of the new Audi R8 production is the most advanced of its kind. Benefiting its road behaviour, the new Audi R8 stands a mere 1.25 metres above the road surface and is 1.90 metres wide. In order to produce handling that is both balanced and sporty, particular attention was paid to achieving low lift at the front and rear axles.
A transparent rear window and partition between the passenger and engine compartments afford a fascinating view of the technology inside.
The rear spoiler is extended automatically at a predetermined speed of 100 km/h, and retracts when the car’s speed falls below 35 km/h, where it lies flush with body. Another way to demonstrate how every single line, every surface on this super car forms part of a harmonious whole that needs no explanation.
Interior Design
The new Audi R8 shows how it is possible to pass on motor racing genes to a production car. The three-spoke, flat bottom multifunction sports steering wheel is leather-covered and latest-generation. The sports seats are decidedly comfortable, with four colours and two materials available to customers.
Clarity and distinctiveness are the hallmarks of the new Audi R8's monoposto-style cockpit. The cockpit establishes an outstanding basis for pure, sporty driving experience and is yet another sensory highlight that responds with precision to customers expectations.
The clever combination of exquisite materials such as Carbon Sigma or leather join forces with a high-quality aluminium look to create an authentic interior environment. Additional storage facilities behind the seats, with space for up to two golf bags, highlight the everyday suitability of this high-performance super car.
The new Audi R8 symbolises the striving for functional and aesthetic perfection and is guaranteed to arouse your enthusiasm and fascination from the first time you glance in its direction.
